This was one of those foreign films that baffled me when I was younger. It was very new and different to me. As I saw it again years many later, I got a different perspective. I still have yet to see "Diary of a Mad Housewife" but based on the title alone, I get the feeling this is somewhat along those lines -- except this is an American housewife in a different country (a dramedy attempt, and I did snicker here and there) who got 'everything (yes, way before the "Real Housewives" we see now, and this is fiction based on a "true" story!) - rich, bored - accidentally hooks up with a bunch of really "free" bohemians -- and really, really dives deeper into madness.
