Im not certain which was worse, the dis-jointed script that assumes the viewer knew what the writer was thinking and jumps all over the place or the hideous editing that jumps back and forth beteen characters so the viewer is left guessing who is talkined at what time.The dialogue and overuse of the F--K is out of place and makes the script cheap and classless. Almost as if the writer wasnt well versed in any language enough to express rage, anger or happiness without the single syllable word that seems to express everything from it's cold in the room to Im hungry, do you have anything to eat. Just because the word is easy to spell doesnt mean it fits the moment.And Leslie Ann Warren's accent bounces from America Yank to English to Russian to horrible Southern American and isnt consitant -- These are the positive things I could say about this no-budget waste of time

I agree with those who felt it needed English subtitles, but my Russian was good enough to know that most of the Russian dialogue did not reveal anything that you really needed to know. It just made it a little easier to follow, because you could tell that the conversation wasn't really pertinent. The characters were interesting, and the acting was competent.

The director of this film, Sergei Bodrov, and several of the lead Russian actors are highly regarded in Russia and have done some excellent film work. This, I had high expectations for this film. However, it seems like something was lost in translation ( I mean this both literally and figuratively). The film just did not seem to be as believable and solid enough to really carry along the plot well, keeping the film from holding together well. Perhaps it was a rush job, a lack of money or it was difficult for Bodrov to make his first film in a foreign language and culture (it's his first as far as I know). Nonetheless, I give it three stars because it's not horrible, and it does try to express an interesting story. Unfortunately, the lack of subtitles only makes it hard to enjoy the movie. I was pretty sure that subtitles or CC for the parts with Russian dialogue weren't available. If this is the case, Hulu is falling down on the job.

but I still haven't seen one I really like. This was alright I guess it just didn't pop. There was nothing really about the inner workings of the mob or even how Oleg even made his money. I never really invested in the charactors or bought into some of the situations. So I never got very interested in this movie.
