ha it was me ha it was me o iz er sot look look stare ha it was me ha it was me o iz er sot thats what was said in drawn out pictures with words to the side and under them as we met and walked threw the dim lit alley ways ha it was me look look stare ha it was me concentrating on how the lines form the shoulder and knee as the ways and biways met while touring the sights with the written sounds below and to the side of the pics. nothing though like seeing a complex series of work come together in a four three two one wordings next to the pic series they represent in them dimlite areas. with the words ha next to a head with bugg eyed expression as the face breathes down onto a outlined color filled body under it with the next phrase being it was me. simple yet complex ha it as me. then the second part is the bug eyed expression face reemerges onto the painted scene as it continues to breathe down saying o iz er sot without the body being there from the first scene. complex turned simple two part mural o iz er sot ha it was me with the third part only two words to some it up the shadow. ha it was me the shadow o iz er sot

Great things happen when art is brought to the common man,that is why the establishment is going affter them.

Street art isn't an art movement. I appreciate some of its characteristics, but trying to romanticize the idea of defacing someone else's property is laughable. It's not the medium, or the style that makes it street art. It's the venue, and that's the problem. I think public art spaces, or legal walls are a good idea, but I have no sympathy for street artists that expect you to shed a tear for the impermanence of their art.

They do some really amazing things. But there has to be balance if life. One man's art is another man's grafitti. I'd love to own some of the canvases but would be pissed if they sprayed the same image on my house. I hope they can understand the other perspective because it is a shame so much of it is lost. I'm afraid most see it as a sign of gangs. If while they were out some girl decorated their entire apartment in a Hello Kitty theme because it was her ideal of beauty I doubt they would be pleased.

I love graffiti, and am always happy to see writers get exposure, but if this doc. was made with any ounce of objectivity, it would have included graffiti artist Katsu's "self-entry" into the show, when he blasted a 30 foot fire extinguisher tag on the side of the museum a couple of days before the opening. And that the piece, arguably the only real graffiti in the show, was buffed the next day. I've been following many of the artists in this 'documentary' since before they had any commercial success as artists, so this isn't haterade on the art... but this film is basically pointless. It's basically just one of those "the medium is the message" films, documenting cool to be cool. Cool? bah...

This is a great doc! It's just a crime though, that these guys go to jail for creating beauty with a message. Years ago I couldn't hold back on the temptation to paint a giant vine with flowers on the outside of my 2-story apartment building. A few weeks after I was done the owners came by and gave me a stern lecture. They told me my punishment was to paint the building back the way it was using my own money for paint, of course. But no jail time! They asked why I didn't ask first, and I told them because I knew they would say no. They said I was right. Then, as a final gesture from the universe, while I was finishing the final section of the re-paint an old man with a cane walked by and said that he had been walking the street by my building for 50 years and never noticed it until the vine showed up. He said it made him have something to look forward to each day as he walked by. Then he said, at his age (80's) he needed something to look forward to each day. I felt the same way.
