I stumbled across this movie intrigued by how a family lives a simple life. I thought I would only watch a couple minutes until I became engrossed by the Karena family's beauty and tragedy. Their is nothing simple about simple living. It means more to be able to live off what you need than taking what you want. Peter and his wife raise their children to have strong spirits and to learn about life with some independence that seems rare in the modern world. Peter's heartbreaking relationship with his father brought me to tears. How a man can so genuinely hate his son so much to call him, "His wife's son." I hope Peter listens to himself and even his own son to know it was finally time to fight back. I was sad when the movie ended. I wanted to see more about this amazing family, the beautiful land they thrive from, and the majestic horses that they raise.
