Well done, opening, set design, costuming. Good characterization of the period, "intellectual's who are emotionally repressed."
I can and do understand the small cult following the series attracts, (attempt to understand motive, characters, and appreciation of style).
However .... I find the character's stilted and unlikable. The s/l's have little to offer. Read any of Ayn Rand's works, (who was popular in this period), and find her characters like these to be, "one dimensional, and better suited to comic books."
AMC considers this series a loss leader.
