The lame commentary during this show took away a lot of the fun. They tried to pump it up with enough gasping hyperbole you'd think narrator was constipated for a month, and many of the facts weren't right. Also, like many other shows about the same subject, this one played the same crash clips over and over. If this was about half the length, and they did more homework on the commentary, it would have been a lot more fun.
A note on the first review above: The point the "lame Brit" was making was there is no drivetrain in a rocket car, so the traction problems are much different than something with drive wheels. The aeros on the car - like an inverted plane - kept the car pointed in the right direction and weren't at odds with drive wheels trying to push things along, constantly grappling for traction.
Another note on the other comment about an average. Whether there are 50 runs or two, the average itself is accurate. It might not be, ultimately, representative of what the car can reliably do, but it is dead accurate as a number. Why only two runs? It costs a lot to make each run, and the engineering needed to sustain a number of runs would compete with the quest for top speed: you'd have to build in much more mechanical reliability. Like those dragsters, these engines are torn down right after their runs, and rebuilt because that's all they're designed to do. They run right on the edge.
Hulu, find more stuff like this! If we have to pay, there must be better content. It's all about value, and your competition is everyone: Netflix, cable, Blockbuster and YouTube. Lots of people will skate if it is not worth it. We are still dealing with buffering and screen refreshes, here. The way it sits, it can't be worth much.
