I've seen a lot worse, actually..
yes, some plot holes..
some insipid actions on the parts of the characters..

but.. overall.. the movie didn't completely suck

I agree with your review, it's nice to find a movie like this that actually manages to pull off some real suspense, mostly through good musical cues. However, I'd like to point out *spoiler* that when the two kids are fleeing from the freaky guy in the narrow, confined, stone tunnels, that narrow area is the peeeerfect place to hold someone back and kill them with a polearm weapon that pierces and thrusts and has range. Like oh gee THE HAY BALER HE CARRIES. Stupid teenages.

Movie starts out slow but things pick up and don't let up untill the very end. It's worth watching. I liked it. It is a scary house.

It wasn't Denise's head that was in the bed...it belonged to the girl that came with the two guys that had been planning to scare the pledges...she was the girl in the beginning who came to the party with Linda Blair. They knew Denise was missing and if a severed head is left in her place that it didn't look good for her, but you didn't pay attention. This movie wasn't bad as 70s horror flicks go, though. Ever seen "Squirm"? lol

That's one creepy house. I liked the movie. Not Oscar material, as if horror movies where supposed to be works of art, but it had it all. Including a evil guy who kept coming not matter what. This movie came out around the same time as the other teens vs slasher movies: Holloween, Friday the 13th. It's not as good but in my opinion quite adequate.

A late '70s horror flick with good death scenes and some laughs. At first i was a bit disappointment when i found out that only four kids have to spend the night in the creepy old house, but then three more victims arrive and the fun really begins. Worth a view as long as you don't expect to be scared and know that it's full of cheese and silliness, I really enjoyed it.
