As a professional painter and avid movie watcher, i must say this was downright cringe-inducing. I couldn't get past the first half hour or so. I think that filmmakers should leave the topic of painting to painters. Or at least they should know a thing or two about it before making a film like this. I mean this "old master"s "masterpieces" look like thrift store paintings for god's sake. And he doesn't even pronounce chiaroscuro right when he was uses it to sound like he knows what the hell he is talking about. I tried to give this a fair chance but I just could not get past the director's blatant ignorance concerning the craft of painting. Also, the film itself is just really, really bad. Every character is a complete cliche. The premise of the movie itself is a cliche which has been executed better elsewhere. I hate to spew such negativity but this is one movie that I feel really warrants it.

The beauty of life's lessons as well as art was truly portrayed, if you give it time you will see it for what it is, truth. In relationships, family, friends, love, life, loss. In it we find ourselves, in whatever our gifts may be.

This movie is almost perfection. The middle gets a little rocky, but the rest is great. I think this movie very much mirrors a real life father/son relationship, and in this case they use a teacher to replace the father. I love all the actors; and the acting, writing, and filming are awesome. If you love art, nature, and life...I think you will love this very heartwarming movie.....in my book, this movie is a must see at least once in your life......

lots to this story. I especially liked the beginning and the ending where art is mixed with reality. Nicely done and touching.

A truly wonderful story that showed me that there are others who appreciate the real beauty of nature as much as I do. I really enjoyed this movie. Get some lemonade and watch it. It was heart warming.

I thought this was a wonderful movie. I enjoyed seeing the relationship develop between the young boy and old man and thought the acting was superb. The lessons about life and art were quite interesting as well. This movie was deep and the scenery was beautiful.
