Point that he did in fact use old stories, I was speaking more about the language though. It just doesn't fit, at least not the way they did it. I hope maybe your right though and it does reach out to some people who would otherwise not watch it.

Is it only me or is the sound quality on most of these movies so low even with speakers hooked up to my NEW with NO sound issue Laptop, I can hardly hear on hulu?

And this movie sux, Star cast too boot, how embarrassing.

That's exactly what he did... His stories were not original!

I think versions of Shakespeare like this are an excellent outreach tool. A way to get those who would never sit down and watch a "traditional" production... they see something modern and they are hooked!!

Ok, so first off I must admit that I enjoy remakes -- a lot.
I also like Shakespeare a great deal.
With that said, I was more than eager to watch this movie.
Unfortunately this has to be one of the worst remakes or modernizations that I have ever attempted to view.
It is truly a horrid film.

Because he wrote things specifically to please crowds of drunken peasants and moody royalty. He would not have taken something that made sense hundreds of years ago and hammered it into a new setting. Ohhh that play is still valid, but to use the exact same language......is just....silly..... Don't get me wrong, I love reading the original Shakespeare, there is some great literary uses you get only with the older English, but still....if you want to honor Shakespeare.... just make a good movie, and sell it to rich people, he'd get a kick out of that.
