Better than expected. Worth a recommendation? why not!
Watching this film I had the feeling that it was a unique blend of a sci-fi flick and a vampire movie. I went into it thinking that there was a very strong possiblity that it was going to get physically sick from a bunch of tough one-liners from Diesel (which there were) or the fact that i would have to sit through an hour and half of cheesy effects and generic aliens; but the reality is that this is a well made (although certainly not perfect) sci-fi flick. It exhibited a very consistent sense of tension and suspense that kept the story moving, and the way the film dealt with feelings/topics of guilt, fear, faith, loyalty, and unity brought the film down to a real human level. Certainly worth your hour and forty eight minutes.

pretty solid modern sci-fi
A cool, but simple story; good visuals; adequate acting; intriguing human drama in the classic sci-fi vein. I would have liked a bit better writing/dialog and a little more insight into the characters' past, but I thought it was well-executed overall.
