Initially, Cover Me had great writing, production values, good character-driven story lines and acting but that all seemed to change about half way through the season. The show, about an FBI family, kids and all, was another unique series from Shaun Cassidy. For some unknown reason, that all went south just before half way through the season. The character driven story lines became thin and suddenly plot driven, eroding the charm of this unique family/crime drama with a splash of comedy. The production values also seemed to take a huge nose dive when they moved to Utah. The sets looked cheesy and the plots became dark and thin with predictable outcomes. The relationships between family members was the attraction and uniqueness that made this show so special but those relationships were suddenly overshadowed and swallowed by dark, recycled plots and characters we've seen a hundred times before in more serious cop dramas. The acting also became very dull. The whole thing about this series was the refreshing and unique relationships between family members as they worked together to catch the bad guys. But that suddenly faded and it seemed as if the show suddenly became a serious, dark crime drama. Not good. All in all , Cover Me was a great series with a unique balance of family and crime that for some reason lost its way and appeal. The first eight or nine episodes were great but I'm sorry I can't say the same for the remaining episodes. I can see why this show was canceled. They had a really great show with a unique concept, based on a true story of an entire FBI family, good acting and great production values but sadly that all changed, and not for the better, about halfway through the season. Sometimes change isn't always a good thing. None-the-less, it's still worth watching, at least the first eight or nine episodes are. And yes, I did watch all 25 episodes.
