Don't know how the movie got that title, but it was a good Indie kind of movie, and I like Jodie Foster and John Turtorro. (If I spelled his name correctly). Didn't get the arrow thing. What was that all about?
I don't like the girl actress. She reminds me of Jackie Earle Haley, thought she could have been a sister but she isn't. Turns out people used to confuse her with him. (Him I like. I thought he was the best thing in Human Target, which was, of course, cancelled by Fox.) Anyway she does a good boy imitation which is not so good when you are playing a girl.
The point is... This kind of thing happens everyday, and has been happening for generations. We need to look at the situations to prepare ourselves for future, outbursts. People who have been abused tend to abuse others themselves. We don't like to hear about it, BUT, it does, it has, and always, will occur. so pay attention.
Well, did you think you were watching "Goldilocks and the three bears"? This kind of thing happens, and we can't put a camera on it in real life. Children are hurt everyday for a very loooong time because of the additions of their parents. Some movies are about real life, get a grip.
This movie had a good plot. What that little girl went through is aweful. One of the reviews commented on the sexual abuse at the end, but did she not read between the lines at all? The girl was definately troubled, and there was more to her story from the very beginning. She would not talk about it. She found her own comfort zone. She was a tough "little girl". The dad going to prison was not the problem. watch and see.
I cannot believe the positive reviews for this piece of trash. Realistic or no, the film sucked. If you want a bizarre Dennis Hopper film watch Blue Velvet, that is sick enough in its surrealism, but this one is just plain Grade D--Disgusting. Nothing redeems it, except maybe the end when she Lizzie Borden's them both. Ugh--how could Hopper even label this a "Dennis Hopper Film" -- must've been during his banned from Hollywood era.
