My wife put it perfectly: this film is like somebody trying to remember a story, but they're getting everything out of order and forgetting important parts.
A family movie to be sure, but insipid notwithstanding.
Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time. I was sorry I sat through it. The ending came as abrupt as a silly dream interrupted by a loud noise or something.
The one redeeming value is the excellent acting done by Daniel J. Travanti (Capt. Frank Furillo of the TV series Hill Street Blues), but this quality still does not save the film.
