I know it may be out of style to say it, but I just don't get the big deal about Tarintino and the likes (including the dude who did this film). I like spaghetti westerns and am a huge fan of 60s-70s horror, which obviously this new breed does too, but they must enjoy a different element of it than I do.
I care about characters, story, pacing, cinematography, lighting. They seem to focus on the obscurer points but only if they're over-the-top.
Maybe it's the mpeg compression or something but this video looks bad. Maybe it was a director's decision but I'm not a big fan of what looks like digital video with over saturated colors and washed-out whites.
Some of the events seem so randomly put together it's hard to get any emotion out of it. It's like a lame anime (excluding Miyazaki, my favorite). The forced western-style English certainly didn't help either.
Do yourself a favor and watch some real spaghetti westerns. Though they can be pretty brutal, they're fun and most of the time they make sense.
