most of the talismans have powers that connect to the animal that make sense;
1) birds fly, 2) rabbits are fast, 3) dragon breathe exploding fireballs, 4) oxen are strong, there are some that are close,
5) snakes are stealthy and stay hidden, 6) "monkey see monkey do", 7) "healthy as a horse", 8) counting sheep to sleep is related to astral projectionthen there are some that are a bit of a leap but i an still follow/voodoo logic them out
9) rats have and spread many viruses and bacteria, types of life at the smallest level, 10) dogs are life long loyal friends, and therapy dogs are used in hospitals to help patients 11) tigers are striped orange and black, two distinct parts of one being but there is one that has be baffled completely. how is 12) the pig animal connected to laser vision? i know its a cartoon, but it seems that they either got the everything else done and said "screw it, pig is heat beam and we can now go home", or the creators are just really big fans of superman, but they lacked a breath, x-ray, and hearing talismansconsidering the show is already run its course, this is coming too late, but i would have liked to have seen the pig have some sort of power that could be traced to the animal. while a "cover yourself in mud" talisman or "blackhole stomach" talisman would be a little too silly, maybe it could have created food, as pigs are commonly connected to gluttony. i have also heard of pigs being used to find mushrooms, so what if the pig was the "super smell" talisman, or better yet, the "finder" talisman that can locate what the user wants, such as other talismans, gold, people, etc. the dark hand could have started out getting the pig early and using it instead of the 4 headed dragon detector. what would really make it interesting is if it was the "super smell/finder" talisman that allowed the user to find what he/she wanted by locking onto the scent, so they would have to literally "follow their nose"

The "finder" talisman is a really interesting idea and would have fit perfectly for the pig, and that seems like a power that Shendu would have. But I don't think it would have meshed with the plot very well especially if they had brought it in from the beginning. If the Dark Hand had a talisman that could find anything they would have been able to use it to find section 13, then not only would Jackie no longer have a safe place to stay, but the dark hand would have to easily been able to find and gain all the talismans they had, kinda ending the series...well maybe not that intense
I was thinking the pig talisman could have had the power to turn any object into gold. Pig can eat anything, sort of turning trash to nutrition I guess, and when I think pigs I always thing of them to be greed, particularly with food. We connect greed with gold and the ability to eat anything to the ability to transform anything and voila! Turn anything to gold! If the dark hand had found that talisman it would have ended Valmont's money troubles, and it seems like another power Shendu would have if he were a king or something. At the same time though if Valmont had the talisman he would no longer need that treasure Shendu was bribing him with, but I'm sure there are other things Shendu could offer, like a place of power whenever he controls the earth. Still laser eyes is probably the most kid friendly, well maybe kid appealing, thing they could come up with.
