It's a mystery all right; a mystery as to why some people love this and some don't. This is essentially a soap opera mystery with a plot that continues to grow and thicken like a tropical forest. Certain aspects play real well, but I could do without the trite gratuitous cheese cake 'sex' scenes and also the ridiculous way the FBI goes around with blaring sirens with red and blue lights to every scene. I thought the FBI was a little more discreet? And the chase scene early on in the show??? There was no other traffic, there were no extras - it was so silly and phony looking - so for this and many other reasons this show just doesn't play right for me - I guess it's a matter of taste; paradoxically, I'm hooked into it now. I can't imagine any show lasting for longer than a season if it is centered solely around the same unresolved incidentOne particular shining point is the lovely and talented Joanne Kelly who is the center of this show but also the vanished person so she is not included in most of the scenes. She is in it plenty though and when she is I feel they are some of the strongest points to the show. If you enjoy her vibrancy and presence then be sure to watch the quirky but terrific sci-fi show she is currently in called Warehouse 13 - now there is a winner!

Hmmm I don’t know what it is, I just have a knack at guessing movies within minutes… same with TV shows. What was that movie… “The Happening”… I guessed it was the trees killing folks when folks started acting all suicidal in the park scene, my friends who were watching the movie with me but had already seen the movie seemed shocked at how quickly I guessed the outcome of the movie. Honestly I was JUST joking when I said it, but as most of us know, that was ironically the plot. Now how is all this dribble I’ve spewed relevant to the “Vanishing”. Simply put, this show is way TOO predictable. And not so much in a way that’s like “WOW I KNEW THEY WERE GONNA PULL THAT, but it was still slick” more like in a “WOW… this is too obvious” kind of way. I do love this show though. It’s the details that have nothing to do with the “who done it” factor that bedazzle me. Perfect example, the Masonic cryptic glyphs depicted an episode or two ago just blew my mind. I actually paused the vid and pondered over the genius that went behind some writer formulating the code to cipher and decipher said cryptic glyphs and yet spin it in a way that we “simpletons“ at home could figure out within 20 seconds of “FBI” exposition dialogue. It’s details like that that make this show rock. I LOVE IT!

Danny Lucus & Graham Kelsen (espically Danny) are not only good looking but have talent. Why haven't we seen more of them. Danny Lucus is Georgeous. Now for the plot, this is an all star show and, its good to see some of the vetran actors.
