Every "second episode" of a series should be devoted to finishing up the groundwork of who the central characters truly are--their wants and needs, their conflicts, and so on. We see Rev. Purdy and Dana Bright, as the question remains in full force: are they good or bad?
We see more of the cute interaction between Johnny and his new friend, Bruce...and more tenstion between Johnny and Sarah, whom we suspect is taking this new situation far harder than she's willing to let on. We see charming interaction among Sarah, Walt, and JJ--the smiling banter between Sarah and Walt indicates their love and friendship, as a couple.
Here, Johnny struggles with the application of his newfound powers--and the controversies they stir up. It is a good set-up for the conflicts he will continue to face as the series unfolds before our very eyes....
