The completion of the first tale of the series sees an all-too-understandable conflict between Johnny and Sheriff Walt--after all, they are both in love with the same woman.... The tenstion between the two of them is well acted, with Sarah caught in the middle.
I have two favorite moments in this ep: First, there is the reflection by Johnny to Bruce on how, in saving one woman, he had effectively sentenced another to death. This moment forever defines the element of tragedy in the series--where for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, and "By doing, we forego; by doing, we undo."
The other great moment is when Johnny sees his chance to get the life he'd always dreamed of. All he has to do is nothing. And yet...he somehow knows he could never live with himself, over his inaction. Though he makes the "right" decision...this choice will continue to haunt him, for the rest of the series....
