Alex could be very helpful, and they would be great together. I'm not really a big fan of Rebecca, either.

The fact that they can see things about each other isn't so bad. It's better than Jonny seeing things about someone, but that someone is unable to see things about him.

I had actually been having problems with him running fine without a cane in one shot and using it, with a limp, sometimes in the next scene. As he moved around more and more, the muscle atrophy would have gotten less and less. So, I agree that the cane was becoming more psychologically necessary than physically necessary.

He wasn't suffering muscle atrophy, not a broken leg. Muscle atrophy is completely reversible. It just means he had to go through a lot of physical therapy with Bruce to restrengthen his legs. There wouldn't be any pain or limp once he fully recovered.

He kept the cane long after recovering because he wanted answers from the future on how to stop armageddon. While no longer a physical crutch, it became a psychological one. For a long time he relied on the information it gave instead of following Bruce's advice and learning to trust in himself.

Seriously? Johnny has been running with no problems since season 2! They should have gotten rid of that cane back then. Perhaps it was a Linus thing?

Possible spoilers if you haven't seen earlier episodes this season.

I understand that Johnny threw his cane away in order to avoid the plot trap of future Johnny but I assumed he would get a new cane.

I can buy that maybe he would suddenly realize "hey, I don't really need that cane!" but he should still have pain and some limping.
Not only does he now not have a limp but he is able to quickly run UPSTAIRS with no problem. This is just horribly lazy writing/directing/acting!

I hope it isn't a sign of where the rest of the series is going from here. I did not watch it when it originally aired.
