The film was a decent attempt to portray the lives of several young, white American upper middle class friends, specifically the challenges they face in the area of relationships--marriage--and making a living. I thought the acting was well done, allowing much of the conflicts and issues to unfold not just though dialogue but the expressions and actions of the actors themselves. The film could easily be adapted to theater, if it hasn't already. It has a bit of a Chekhov-like realism and objectivity to it. Like a good Chekhov play, one is able to see a realistic and objective reflection of modern life, and, in doing so, sees both the comedy and pathos in the lives we live.
