What a great, feel-good film! I especially loved the music, clever lyrics and story lines. I must say, that even though the choreography didn't have a particular "wow" factor to me, it was still enjoyable to watch. The story lines were a bit predictable, but very sweet nonetheless. Also a nice surprise to see the incredibly talented legends George Chakiris and Gene Kelly in this film (both of whom, besides their phenomenal dancing, spoke very impressive French, by the way!)
I also picked up on a few clever lines in the dialogue referencing "the Umbrellas of Cherbourg" (Another Demy goodie and a clear Deneuve connection), and, whether or not it was intentional, I couldn't help but think of Jacque Tati's "Playtime" at the end (although that could be me just being "oversensitive" to references of other French directors that I adore!)
Definitely a feel-good musical that kept me entertained straight through to the charming ending.
