I saw this when it first played in the theatres. I've read the book. And I've seen it many times. The acting, the verbal banter, and the overall style of the movie make it a "oh, lets watch this one again."

It is not all that often when a film can make me chuckle so often and actually laugh out loud. Matthus's character, with the assistance of Mr Jackson, and at the expense of the sap, Ned Beatty, are always stays one step ahead of both his pursuers and the viewer. This is a gem. If you don't like this, well, I'll just be polite and simply stop now.

The house destruction and prelude are worth the wait, @Janet. Patience brings the enlightenment you lack. This is a classic 60's spy flick...made in the eighties.
