I may not be old enough for the Old West, but the the show felt "period accurate" and that plus Tom Beringer as a bad a$$ makes a great series. Too bad they couldn't have advertised it better so it could have lasted longer then one season. I am the type that likes intriguing and well written shows like 24, Firefly and Star Trek. Tom was also great in the Substitute 2

The first three episodes that I have watched were pretty good ......... but this one left a lot to be desired ........ I agree with most of the reviews I've read here. First of all an experienced frontiersman like Stone would have known immediately the difference in the arrows. Yes, we committed genocide no doubt about it and Manifest Destiny was truly a farce, but God gives all humans the freedom to choose. The regular Army didn't dress like that and they didn't have to portray them as renegades to make their point. It seems that they don't think we are capable of using our brains. I doubt in a town that size no one would have noticed the two victims liaison, but this episode was so full of holes it makes me wonder if the same people wrote it. I agree with simag, Hollywoods depiction of how the West was won is pathetic. Hopefully the folks who watched this kinda of dreck have a clue, this was almost a comedy it was so bad and I was beginning to like this series ....... Oh well I guess I know now why it was cancelled. That was really bad.

Horrible episode in what has otherwise been an enjoyable series. Disappointed to see it follows the current trend of oversimplifying the conflicts of the period to the point that it disrespects both sides. It's carelessness like this that has led to the popular belief that the U.S. army conspired to infect natives with smallpox, a disease which claimed so many victims that we owe it to them and ourselves to get the facts right. Speaking of which, the soldiers portrayed here were ridiculously undisciplined for regular army. Please don't leave your education to Hollywood!

I have not watch all of episode 4 yet, but these are the worst dressed Soldiers that I have even seen. Even the Frontier army wasn't this poorly equiped.
