The Texas Rangers were a bunch of asses who NEVER struggled with their consciounces about slaughtering Mexicans. Oh, by the way, the Texans won at the Alamo too.

Why oh why was James VanDerBeek given top billing over Dylan McDermott? That is bothersome, because Dylan is a better actor. Can't you believe it,....Usher as a Texas Ranger,.....he was great. I've seen similar movies on the same historical suject,...and they were better. Maybe if the subject matter had been more closely examined and 'NOT' be an acting showcase, it might have been better.Tom Skeritt os always great,.....Ashton Kutcher,....serious actor? maybe, but he'd have to stop acting like a surfer goofball. it might just work.Not a bad viewing.

yes that is correct it's a common tactic to have something to make you easily identifiable during the heat of combat especially when uniforms aren't worn to let you easily identify friend/foe an example current US combat units wear a small bit of reflective tape on the back of their helmets to make them identifiable as friendly at night from behind See 1 other reply

I guess the white cloth tied around the arms was taken from the tactic they practiced at the Alamo with playing cards stuck in thier hats. Quick recognition of friendlies in fast acting fighting. Although if the enemy catches on to this after seen in many skirmishes they might use it agains't them.

King Fisher didn't attack Texans. He attacked into Mexico and stole cattle from them. This helped spur Mexican gangs to do the same in Texas. The Rangers did raid King Fisher's ranch because they wanted him to stop raiding Mexico and creating trouble. The Rangers under McNelly also attacked many times inside Mexico.
