I would have loved to have parents like these guys. My mom and dad were drug addicts who both died from their addiction. To be clear: I'm not saying religion is bad; rather, I'm saying that fundamentalism is a poison that harms people. This lady is completely unable to see how maximizing the number of kids in group homes is a bad thing. She seems to be devoid of critical (ie, logical) thinking. She says "they are great parents who love these kids" and then states that the very thing she praised should be outlawed. She was provided ample proof that the kids are better off and still she would rather throw the kids into group homes. If there is any such thing as evil in this world it is fundamentalism since fundamentalism seems to be at the root of every horror visited upon humanity.I live in a town where the only children's shelter is run by fundamentalists. They have a policy of throwing GLBT kids out into the street. One kid didn't do drugs, didn't smoke or drink. She was kicked out of the shelter for being queer and wound up becoming involved in selling herself to make money because she was too young to work. By the time she was old enough to work, she was already HIV+. To the fundamentalist's eye, the social violence visited upon this child was her own doing and the children's shelter was doing the work of god.I hope - with all my heart - that fundamentalism declines as people become more educated and able to apply logic to life as apposed to blind adherence to dogma that destroys the lives of children.
