I just saw this show for the first time. I just finished all the episodes and it was AMAZING!!! Gunsmoke meets CSI. And the awesome thing is that all the forensics used were available albeit groundbreaking for the time!!

OMG this was excellent entertainment. Tom Berenger makes the series, his no-nonsense demeanor played to perfection, depicts the old west almost as well as the costume and set, which were outstanding. This was Gun Smoke to a T for terrific, but there are some problems with it. First, you cannot be a former series, you must be better, and keep up with your audience. Second, co-stars were out of character for the time piece so the awarding acting lost its flavor. I long for a good western series and truly wish this was it, maybe next time.

There are many of us who appreciate the quality of this series. But because it did not have abnormal sex acts, same sex marriages and abortion, it lacked the message Hollywood is trying to send to the general public who have to be trained in abase behavior. Creative writing, quality acting and good scenes were just not acceptable. When do we normal people get a break?

The moral message and entertainment value of the early American western do not seem to be pursued these days.Too bad ,my opinion is that a lot is lost here.This may well have been another gunsmoke series.
