I absolutely loved this documentary! It was very inspirational and I enjoyed to see the perspectives of people who actually lived through the war. At times it was very emotional but it is a great reaction to have to a documentary like this. Very well done with the old historical footage, the interviews, and the veterans visiting Metz and surrounding areas. It really gave that feel that you can go back and relive that moment with them.

The generation that grew up during the Great Depression was thrust into the bloodiest war in history with the expectation of accomplishing the impossible. And they did it. Unfortunately, the opportunity to document their first-hand accounts has nearly passed.Fortunately, however, this film seizes the opportunity to follow a handful of "ordinary Joes" from the 95th Infantry on their journey back to France for the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Metz. The filmmakers do an excellent job of letting the viewer get to know these gentlemen as they reminisce about their transformation from 'ordinary Joes' to 'G.I. Joes' and ultimately into the battle-hardened "Iron Men of Metz". We see a remarkable collection of archival footage with narrative from the ordinary soldier's perspective. We also are provided living proof that camaraderie, friendship and love truly can last a lifetime; and beyond. This is a "must-see" for everyone. (Caveat to parents: frank wartime descriptions with occasionally "salty" language).

This film presents a nicely arrayed montage of first-hand stories and historical records narrating the WWII Battle of Metz, from the perspective of surviving comrades of America's 95th. This is a relatively short film which affectionately portrays the strength, loyalty, and camaraderie of the soldiers interviewed, some of whom may not even have known one another during the war. The viewer will need to consult history books for the "big picture" of this battle and this film focuses more on the city itself, and the recollections - architectural, logistical, and otherwise - of the solders who fought there.
