to all the british show comments, who cares? This show is showcasing normal every day people, not those that match with society's current ideals about what is beautiful. Every day people doing every day things. Haven't you ever sang a song on the radio? The difference between you and these people are they are doing it on stage, on national tv. to copy cat, too fat?!? Pavarotti anyone? Granted, his weight prevented him from performing the way he used to...but people came to hear him sing. Looking "good" is easy, singing like that is not.

he sang the same song that potts sang on the british version, plus he's too fat no one will ever want to watch him. He's got talent but it's wasted.

Who cares about Britain's Got Talent? Yeah Paul Potts is/was great, but this guy is American and deserves to win!!!

This is true, the season 1 winner of Britan's Got talent Paul Potts did the same act, even a little better than this guy. I think that's why Piers wasn't as impressed.

Yea I got chills too. I dont have enough experience to rate him relative to other opera singers, but in this competition he stands out pretty far ahead.

I swear I went through this experience once before. A similar type of "regular guy" came out and sang this same song on Britain's Got Talent. It was both powerful and emotional. Now, on America's Got Talent, the same exact thing happens? Would the show actually find an unknown professional to recreate what happened on the British show? Hmm...
