So Mabuse is still in the insane asylum, and hasn't said much, when all of a sudden he starts writing like a.... well, madman. His shrink, Dr. Baum, has an unhealthy interest in the old coots manifesto. When a rash of crimes break out in the city with an eerie similarity to Mabuse's writings, the police commissar, Inspector Lohmann (a recurring role from 'M') gets involved. Another good one from Fritz Lang. Everything I've seen of his has been good. However, as far as the interpretation of this as having been a nazi allegory, I kind of doubt it. Apparently, Lang was no stranger to letting people give him credit where none was due, and this story, borrows heavily from the Fu Manchu stories of the late 20's. But in any case, it's well worth watching, but is a bit too long, and the big payoff is really obvious. Watch it anyway.
