I came here by way of Andrei Rublev, which is amazing. This film might have held allot more impact before I saw all the other films that borrowed from it. But alas, this was made before I was born and I probably don't have enough fingers to count the number of sci-fi paradox reveals I've seen throughout the years. I did appreciate it's attention to electronic music and futurism though. If you gotta pick a Tarkovsky flick, I say skip this and see Andrei Rublev. If you love art films as well as retro sci-fi, I say go for it. Though if you're looking for philosophical complexity, this movie may try to float your boat, but it doesn't really go beyond commenting on the imagination's frail power to create a conviction of love and/or belonging.
