The tale of Ryunosuke, the libertarian samurai, as he wanders through the Japanese countryside doing exactly as he pleases. It should come as no surprise that in his travels, he stacks up Japanese corpses like cord wood, and has darn near the whole of the Japanese peasantry seething for revenge. Great story, starring my fave chanbara dude, Tatsuya Nakadai. The only problem with this movie, as I mentioned in my review of Okamoto's 'Kill', is that there is such an overwhelming number of chrcters in this thing, that you could easily find yourself lost by the half way point. Having seen this one many times, I can honestly say that this one needs repeat viewings to really get the most out of it, but it is well worth it. Watch it!
