Terrible, terrible, terrible. This show was one of my favorites shows from the 80's, and this was one of my favorite episodes, but somebody screwed up BAD. The MOST IMPORTANT & DRAMATIC SCENE of this episode was DELETED;we only get to see the final seconds of the scene, but missed the most important part. The deleted scene is when the cops arrive to apprehend the suspects which are hiding inside a building; the building is surrounded by what seems like a hundred cops all pointing their guns towards the building and all too willing to pull the trigger at these "monsters." Finally, the suspects give in and are ready to come out, but instead of monsters coming out we see kids. All in the scene-including most viewers like my self- watch in awe to discover that kids committed the heinous crime. This scene in my opinion was the whole point of the episode. However, two cool scenes where not deleted: one where Det. Blume states " where do you put your hate?" and the last scene where Furillo is in a phone booth (remember those?) calling his son just to tell him: " I love you, son."
