Watched this when it first came out. Wife was really excited. Due to it's length it had an intermission. Wife had to wake me up. Was pissed, said I was snoring.

Need I say more.

Just like others, I must have watched this film like million light years back and never really find so interesting. Yet, I must concede that this film is remarkable in dealing with subject of
parents and children during the Victorian period of old Europe. Is decent film, off the beaten track might add from the average family entertainment genre. Recommend this film, is excellent dig. :) four stars

The first time I saw this, I was completely entranced, the scenes, the characters, the storyline, is filled is magic and a bit dark. I will agree, the first half moves slow. bit confused but I have seen this now at least 5 times and highly recommend it. I think this sticks with you well after viewing, especially when it begins to follow Alexander.
