This is film documents the important topic of the exploitation of African peoples and wealth in the service mining gold by the folks who have the money to get what they want. The producers use a minimalist approach, hoping the many, very moving, images will carry the message, but for me it's a little too understated. The subtitles, for example, are clearly inadequate--giving me a sentence where I needed a paragraph. Consequently the film leaves me feeling that, OK, I get the theme, where is it's exposition? If a film can inspire you to learn more, that's good; but if it leaves you mostly in the dark, you wonder if there's anyhthing to be learned here. In sum, you'll find moving photography, but a disappointing treatment of the topic.
