Description	The story of the German Resistance is one that is rarely heard, but the bravery of the conspirators, despite their lack of success in stopping Hitler in his tracks, is nothing short of heroic. During the opening years of World War II Hitler and his military machine succeeded in virtually every campaign, making a coup unrealistic, but as the Allies gained strength, especially after the Americans entered the fray at the end of 1941, when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour, an attempt on Hitler’s life began to become viable. However, it was 1944 before Operation Valkyrie and Colonel Count Claus von Stauffenberg got within striking distance of assassinating the Fuhrer, and in “The Hitler Conspiracies” you can follow this remarkable plot that very nearly ended Hitler’s reign of terror, proving beyond doubt that within his own ranks there were those prepared to risk their lives for the sake of humanity.

Mark Corrigan would be all over this program, but even the casual history buffs should steer clear of this. The creators were unable to walk the line between presenting interesting facts about Hitler and rambling off a bunch of facts about him and instead wound up floundering in the latter.

elision of many of the more interesting plots, concentrating almost solely on the valkyrie plot. but even that was treated very summarily. not sure what they spent all this time on. And the constant harping on the honor and integrity of the conspirators...yes, there were a few of those, not to diminish their acts of conscience, but most had remained too inactive for too long to be considered heroic. Many had been ardent nazi's, or at least keen militarists, and were disillusioned when hitler made decisions they believed would prove fatal to germany.

Very thin on facts, the producers of this series go far afield of the titles in this series of documentaries. Nothing is actually covered in depth, even with nearly one hour running times, they fill up time with a simplistic version of WWII instead of going into details about the stated subjects.

Not totally junk, but very close.

What is the promoter/producer trying to pull here? This has scads of digital cuts and fades, and a modern synthesized score. The boring monotone narration is poor enough, but to claim it's from forty two years ago is preposterous.

The presentation on the conspiracy against Hilter was presented very well. Even-though the plots are well known, this doc outlines the series of attempts.
