The long coats have nothing to do with any cult, There was a time when most all men wore long coats. Your father or grandfather probably wore a long coat if they were men. Long coat on a man is VERY sexy, and the MAN wearing a long coat knows style. See 2 other replies

Ok, so I know they are immortal. I know they have swords. I know they use the swords. I know that they never (or, well, rarely) leave the side of the immortal...but still, what is with all the long coats? It is as if they are part of some kind of cult. Sure they need to conceal the weapon...but I have seen Macleod pull his sword out of thin air wearing nothing by a shirt and jeans/slacks. I mean, if they can do that what is with the coats? Idk, they might as well make some kind of cult or club, The long coat immortals. Its catchy. I think it would become famous XDXD

Good episode. Regarding Eric's accent. I am also from the south my whole life, if you ever meet a southern gentleman from old old money who has an upper crust education this is how they speak. It's an old school southern $$ accent. Not many people around who still speak like this. I worked with an older man who spoke like this. Enjoyed hearing him talk. I was so use to the southern slang and drawl I grew up around (and tried not to imitate) that is was refreshing to hear him speak.
