I first saw this movie while studying acting, in New York City, in 1982. It was playing in the basement theatre of Carnegie Hall, which was devoted to Saturday Matinees of Film Classics.
It mesmerized me like no other film ever has. But I have always wondered if that was the perception of a young, naive man in The Big Apple for the first time, where each new experience is unparalelled.
After having just watched it again on Hulu, 30 years later, my original perceptions have proved to be correct. For me, this is the Greatest film I have ever seen! Don't miss it!
Thank you, Hulu, for aquiring it.
