I agree, flashbacks are never great- especially in the first season. But this is one of the better I have seen. The main plot is entertaining enough to maintain your attention through the flashback portions.

Flashbacks
Love the show but I hate flashback episodes. Not much creative or entertaining about it, just a cheap way to produce an episode.
