I'm all for animal rights, except when they groups like PETA put more animals to sleep than they do saving them, as well as when it's more of a fad to be associated with them than for their argument. No animal should suffer; it's why we put dogs to sleep if things are bad for them (why we can't have doctor assisted suicides for human beings, creatures we've deemed more important than animals, is beyond inhumane), but any group that sponsors/encourages/gets excited about someone who broke the law springing lab monkeys or in launching raids on some kind of food facility, is like trying to stop hurt and suffering caused to animals by punching animals in the face.As far as the individual goes, I encourage everyone to stand up for what they believe in. I don't encourage people preventing others from enjoying their own freedoms. I say, crack down on the farms that run things sloppy, murdering animals for their precious, juicy meat may be unavoidably tasty, but there is absolutely no reason these buddies should live in conditions before their deaths that can be related to conditions of the holocaust. Who knows, maybe one day I'll hear and trust that being a vegetarian is healthier for you (in an all around manner, one that proves to me that you can get the right kinds of proteins and stuff your body needs) and will thus consider. PETA sucks though. It's a gimmick, a sham, and is like giving your money to a charity that would rather fight for an animal's right to marry than for making it's life better.
