These people are kind of uninformed, and the actor could have easily worded what he said differently with the woman in the hijab. He definitely cannot tell her she cannot practice her religion while she is working there, but he most certainly can require that she not wear the item on her head. Businesses cannot discriminate against religion, therefore religion should not even be brought up into the discussion and should not even be considered. The argument is really against the headwear, which is simply against policy, and in this country you can require uniforms a certain way. It is in no way racist to say you can't wear it. If this was a real situation and she had taken that lawyers number and went to court, the judge would have laughed it out.
