Again, I believe you'll find that cancellation (without a finale) is the rule rather than the exception through tv history. So it goes. Wikipedia cites quite a few factors that may have led to LiS's cancellation (<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_in_Space#Cancellation>).Your last remark, above, brings to mind my favorite SF film, "Robinson Crusoe on Mars", which has a very interesting connection to "Lost in Space" (and for that matter, to "Star Trek"!).And yes, "Land of the Giants" was canceled as well; likewise for "Time Tunnel", my favorite Irwin Allen series after "Lost in Space".If you're looking for a great SF series that DOES conclude properly -- indeed, greatly -- then I'd strongly recommend "Babylon 5". If you watch that one straight through from beginning to end, when the final episode arrives your socks will be knocked into a different time-zone, guaranteed. (Alas, Hulu seems to carry only the first two seasons, so you should ensure somehow that you have access to the complete run before committing to it!)   See 6 other replies

Oh!!! Also Land of the Giants. Did they discontinue that T.V. show ,because it was another good show that I invested a lot of time watching to find that I would never see the ending. That's one I think they should remake in a modern version but yet with a old school twist.   See 6 other replies

Hey thanks for the good info Davy S. Its a bummer that they just canceled the show ,cause it was a good T.V. show for its era. At 28yrs. I know its before my time, but when watching it, it kind of help me to escape life's problems and make me wish that something like that could happen to me to see if I would have the juice to survive.   See 6 other replies

And yes, there were only three seasons (one good one, imho) ... though there was also an animated, Saturday-morning cartoon episode in 1973, a "major motion picture" version in 1998 (about which, the less said the better), and an unsold pilot for a new tv series from 2003 (see comment on film version).   See 6 other replies
