I started watching Hotel Monterey with low expectations, given the film synopsis. Very quickly, though, I was captured by the long takes and the rhythm of the camera. I felt as if the film had given me entrance into another world, where I was allowed to look long and deeply, without concern about rudeness, into both public and private views of the hotel and its inhabitants. The camera seems to find the most interesting view easily and naturally - every shot was beautiful If you can let yourself slow down enough to really see this, you will be rewarded.
