There certainly are better WWII drum-beating movies, but what is fascinating about this one is that it was made in 1942, during the war, but was not a military nor government produced piece. It reflects the change in civilian attitude towards the war after Pearl Harbor, keeping in mind that there was a strong non-involvement movement in the US prior to Pearl Harbor. It also has Randolph Scott with a heavy southern accent.
