One must keep in mind that this was produced during the war, and was intended for UK audience. It was common in those days to include reenacted footage along with actual battle footage. While some of the information is inaccurate, it was probably based on the best information available at the time.

Also included is a short film on the Aleutian island campaign (in progress). This 2nd film was "restricted"; not to be shown in US. At the time it wasn't exactly kept "secret" from the American public, but was de-emphasized because the Aleutian campaign was considered militarily less-significant; and if the Americans realized that the Japanese actually occupied US territory, public demand might require diverting assets which were required elsewhere.

WOW! Talk about your eye-poppin' combat photography....incredible footage....its as close to being there as you can get! The combat photographers were right there in the $h!! with the troops, and it makes all the difference. The soundtrack could have been brighter, but was not illegible. Amazing after all these decades...an astounding trip back thru time which gives viewers a much more personal view of the war on the ground. Hats off to Hulu for making this and a number of other films available! Gung Ho! was really enjoyable too.
