Just love this series, the access they had to film what was going on behind the scenes is historic. Those of us that followed this in detail appreciate having this video footage available to us! Any of the NOVA programs on space..... just fascinating!
"As a new generation student I have received the best education of any other previous generation to date "... you already start with a false assertion... it's not because you are the latest that you learn more.. Just this sentence prove you haven't received the best education...

Oh and just have to cool the atomosphere of Venus down enough for the gas to precipitate and then the planet will cool to near normal temperatures, hopefully.

Hay Richards, don't be a tatter hater. Firstly, prove this education is worse than previous (what statistics are you looking at?). I'm not saying the system itself, its awful. Its not like the book had technology we dont have, or things that cant' be done. (could you also tell me what degree in education you have, or science? Or anything really... What makes you qualified to say that I'm wrong?) Oh and lack of humility? Please elaborate...

Wow, Wesley, that's pretty remarkable. In addition to having a mind-boggling lack of humility, you also seem to think that education is now doing a better job than in previous generations, regardless of what the statistics show. You then go on to draw a scientific conclusion from a work of science fiction -- pretty much what I'd expect from a "new generation student".

I thinks it's very possible,in one or two hundred years ...maybe by then,we'll have our sights on something bigger. I'm not so sure about venus, the suface temp and corrosive atmosphere would murder current material/metals.Maybe we'll have the technolgy to overcome that in a few decades. Who knows what the future holds.
I know it's important to have people who believe....if we listened to the naysayers,we'd live in caves..

As a new generation student I have received the best education of any other previous generation to date and believe terraforming very possible, not just on Mars but on Venus as well. The book series: Red, Green, and Blue Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson have provided me with a foundation of ideas to work with such as "tenting" basins in the beginning of the terraforming effort so that winds won't be so dangerous to structures and the environment within could be very well controlled. Terraforming is what I consider to be key to humanities survival as well as the survival of the remaining genetic diversity on Earth.
Tags are user-generated labels related to this video or show that can help you discover related videos on Hulu. Check the tags you feel are most appropriate for this video or add your own (the number in parentheses indicates how many other users have used that tag.) To find other videos with similar tags, simply click on the tag that interests you most.
Tags are keywords or category labels that can help you and others find videos on Hulu. They also classify videos for later recall. You can tag videos yourself by simply checking the box next to a popular tag for a video or by using the "add" field to create a new tag. Click on any tag — "comedy" for example — to discover other videos similarly tagged by you or other users. Because tags are reviewed by Hulu, there may be a delay in surfacing your tags. The most relevant tags are sorted by category for the rest of Hulu to see. You may assign up to 30 tags for any video or show; to review all of your tags, see the Tags section on your profile page.
Your tags may be visible to other users on Hulu. You should not use:
Profane or obscene language
Tags that are inciting or spiteful
Tags that might harass, abuse or threaten members of the community
Tags that may reveal your personal information or any personal information about children under age 13
Tags that promote illegal or immoral conduct
Tags containing special characters or more than 50 characters
