How nice it must be to respond to others in a caustic shotgun approach, differing with this aspect or that, inferring they are ignorant , spouting facts and using them to beat others over the head, albeit in a reasonably amiable fashion. I believe the network of highways to which you refer to be far different that the Interstate Highway system built in the mid-late 50's. I wonder if their might be a connection between the depression and the I.H.S. as somewhere in that time period, a fellow names Hitler was out and about, creating a super highway system in Germany (The first true freeway?) and surely he was aware of the USA depression. Perhaps he thought of how he could conquer the world through rapid movement of goods and weapons or...maybe he just wanted to show the world how great the modern high speed freeway could be. Heck...how can we ever know?History seems to repeat itself due to the human condition and its inherent short term gratification/planning...or maybe selective memory or...Facts are what you make of them...facts are often learned rather than experienced, and facts are too often regurgitated improperly or off the cuff. Facts are worthless in and of themselves. The creator of Honda motorcycles once said that "knowledge without action is worthless" and I wholeheartedly agree. So I just listen and make up my mind...rather than spend lots of time correcting others.
