This is a nice promo for Richard M Daley, and a nice summary of some of the ideas that are moving ecological initiatives forward in Chicago. We have great bike lanes. This Daley has done a much better job at not only getting more people outdoors, but also making those outdoors worth it. Millennium park is a mighty fine place to see jazz in the park, or get squirted by a gigantic video mouth, but there are some blatant issues of the city being green from tarnish. How are green roofs and kale gardens on the sidewalk going to reduce the mercury levels emitted by the coal burning stations? And don't forget NO2 levels! Coal stations like Fisk and Crawford have been blasting a good portion of the midwest including Michigan with a dispersed version of what Pilsen and Little Village breathe. Why are the obese feline societies only focusing on Architecture? What about a little clean energy design? Obviously, making these changes isn't easy, but neither are the ailments from countless communities within Chicago. GREEN BAND-AIDS!
