Billy Tackman, what is your issue? you seem to be angry, do you feel some should be acknowledged more than others? What use is it to argue some deserve less credit than they recieved, maybe you should change your perspective and realize that the real enemy is those of us who have forgotten the past entirely, The marines certainly aren't zero, but you would be a zero if it weren't for the combined efforts of the american heroes you seem to think need to be gauged and ranked.

I will only note that only about 10% of the air corp was involved in direct combat as the other were support for the planes. Note the numbers given at the beginning of this film 4,000 men 400 to fly and 3,600 to keep them flying. This puts a slightly different spin on that 2.5% figure. Being air crew was very dangerous and trips to Germany at lasted many hours. The temperatures given are celcius convert to F and think again..

The war did not stop for the weather if you were a Marine. Before you make inaccurate and biased comments, you should think about how others that fought in this war endured. Hot meals, soft beds, showers, liberty with girls at Red Cross resorts. There were no creature comforts for the Marines or Soldiers on the ground. They slept in the heat, mud, cold, and snow. They at cold rations. They did not have showers or beds. They lived, ate, slept, and died with the enemy around them 24/7. No doubt the bomber crews faced terrible things. But for them it was a Part-Time proposition. for the average infantryman, whether Army or Marines, they had to life the dangers of the war full-time, death was always with them there on the lines. Not just for a few hours flying to and from the target.
