I enjoyed this movie. If you enjoy Western Cowboy movies and Eastern Ninja/Samurai movies then this is for you. I have to say the last good Samurai movie I saw was: "The Last Samuria" and this one was cool too.
I really liked the characters and actors as well. I didn't think this film was degrading portrayal of Americans. Most people back then were not as smart back then because not all of them went to school and college like today. I have seen "Corny", "Cheesy" western movies before and this is a comedy but its not stupid.
The native American Indians were serious like they are suppose to be but they did play dumb to do comedy skits in the movie. There were many East Meets West moments.
Like early in the movie when Kamijo rode up on his horse to Sam to make sure they were not followed he looked like an Indian Warrior, but when he got close you could see he was a Samurai Warrior which is really cool because when you think about it they are similar.
It was also cool when Tame saw the American Indian on the hill singing and he knew the same song and jumped of his horse and sang back. They are from opposite sides of the world and yet they knew the same song. AWESOME!
Also if your into Japanese culture and stuff its good for you to hear legit Japanese and get to know people from Japan. If you are taking a Japanese course in college this would be a good film for you to watch also.
I hope my review helped you, and I hope you enjoy this movie.
God bless. John 3:16
