Considering where a few bold hip hop stars are heading this summer in 2012 (i.e. Lil B - "I'm Gay")....this was bold and ahead of its time, even if it was just in 2009. Hip hop is chock full of homophobia, I'm surprised to see this was made by hip hop fans, yet alone shown on Hulu. Bravo. These guys were good and in many ways, hilariously entertaining~!
Like Rock 'n' Roll, hip hop is about personal interpretation and also has its strange moments with homophobia from fans and corporations alike. I had never known this was ever made considering the way you tube treats the topic. I figured nobody would have the guts. I was wrong. It was interesting enough to review. Very matter of factually, record labels have this very discussion about the genre of music monthly, but with the same result since the 90's: Bury it.
This documentary does not.
